Community Project
Our Exciting Reflexology & Music Therapy Project
Be Present CIC (Community Interest Company) and Meridian Moments have recently secured funding from the National Lottery Community Fund to deliver Reflexology and Music Therapy to the clients of Women’s support groups in North East Lincolnshire and East Lindsey.
If you work with one of these groups please contact us using the form below and we’d love to have a chat.
If you’d like to know more about the project read on:
We’re embarking on an innovative project to blend the talents of musically and holistically trained professionals, aiming to provide an outreach program for individuals recovering from domestic abuse. We’ve engaged in discussions with local groups, along with their clients, to facilitate access to free group music sessions and Reflexology treatments as part of their healing process.
Our project aims to combat this by fostering positive relationships and teaching healthy relaxation techniques from an early stage of recovery.
The initial phase of the project is projected to last a year, with the possibility of expanding to local refuges and safe houses the following year.
Our dual approach seeks to build confidence, improve mental health, and foster positive relationships through music, while promoting wellbeing and relaxation through Reflexology. Beneficiaries will be asked to provide feedback on their experiences via email and in-person interviews. We’re building on our previous experience of delivering music workshops in Leeds, now incorporating Reflexology into our program.
Our reflexology treatments aim to provide therapeutic touch, promoting relaxation during recovery from domestic abuse. Simultaneously, our music and reflection group seeks to cultivate a sense of community and playfulness.
We aim to support beneficiaries in rebuilding their lives without resorting to unhealthy coping mechanisms such as alcohol or drugs.
In the future, we plan to expand our treatment offerings and transform women’s centres into healing spaces where individuals can learn self-compassion. Our ultimate goal is to support beneficiaries through their recovery journey, discouraging them from reverting to unhealthy relationships and nurturing self-care habits that foster healthier relationships moving forward.
